Happenings in the clubs

St. Helen’s Bay GC

Ladies cttee

Sat. 6th Mar. Winter League Final.

Lovely spring weather saw the the end of this years Winter League in St

Helen's Bay with perfect conditions for golf, with an exciting nail biting finish so close it was down to the last man in, champions on the day was

Furlong's Furies beating Bossy Breda's by 96 points to 90. This competition is going from strength to strength each year.

Sat 6th Mar. Ladies Single Sweep 15 Holes. With a bitterly cold start to the day which improved when the sun came out, didn't deter Eileen Brosnan (16) bringing in 30 pts winning on the

countback, with Bernie Furlong (23) with 30 pts also. Well done ladies.

Sun. 7th Mar. Ladies single Sweep 15 Holes. Another beautiful day for golf, with Ann Parkinson (19) playing some terrific golf. Pars on the 1st, 2nd, 7th and 14th win 1st place with 33pts. Lady Captain Jean (20) having to settle for 2nd place with terrific score of 30 pts. Keep up the good golf ladies.

St. Mary’s Day Care Centre

Sympathy: Our sympathy goes out to the families of Charlie Hartle and Jim Caulfield on their recent deaths. They were both lovely gentleman and will be sadly missed by all in the Day Care. Rest in Peace Charlie and Jim.

Get well wishes: All at the Centre wish all of our patrons who are unwell at the moment  a very speedy recovery, and we hope to see them

all back at the centre as soon as possible.

College Teams: Well done to Pat Brannigan and Aaron Kavanagh who were part of the Carlow IT hurling panel which captured the Ryan Cup Hurling Title in Galway on Saturday last. Carlow beat DCU by 1-12 to 0-13.

Best Wishes: All officers, players and members of the club wish Larry Morrissey a speedy recovery and return to good health after sustaining a serious injury while playing with the club last weekend.

Rosslare Rangers Gym News:

The Gym is now open 7 days a week (9am - 2pm and 5.30pm to 9pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 1pm Sat/Sun).

Membership fees are:

Single: €220.00 per annum €160.00 per 6 month

Couple: €380.00 per annum,  €260.00 per 6  month

Family: €480.00 per annum, €315 per 6 month (2 ad & 2 Ch over 16 years)

Disabled/Student/OAP €165.00 per annum €120.00 per 6 month.

Single session: €10 per hour

Registered Rosslare Rangers "Players” €70.00 per annum.

Registered Rosslare Rangers Committee Members/Managers  €165.00 per annum

Membership includes a reduced rate of 50% for a single swim at the St Helen's Hotel Swimming Pool.

Tuskar Rock G.C.

Tuskar Rock Captain's Drive takes place on Sunday 28th March at 11pm Sharp at the St. Helen's Bay Golf resort. This will be followed by a 3 club competition. Members can play with any 2 clubs and a putter over 9 Holes. Finger food will be served afterwards. All new members are welcome to play on the day.

Good Luck to our new Captain's Sean Fitzgerald and Aine O Connell over the next year.

Competitions: GUI Competitions will start on the first weekend in April. Any members without a handicap are asked to complete there 3 cards. You cannot play in these events without a GUI handicap..

As all members know, Tuskar Rock has moved to the St. Helen's Bay Golf Resort, and can avail of all clubhouse facilities. The office is open to book tee times on 053-9133234 or for course information you can call 085-5-1081488. The Club website is www.tuskarrockgolfclub.com and will be updated very shortly with all this seasons club competitions.

6th Wexford Tuskar Sea Scouts would like to thank all who turned out for their Vintage Vehicle Run on Sunday 7th March. There was a fine display of Vehicles from cars to Fire Engines. Special thanks go out to all the members of the local community who helped on the day.

The diocesan Clergy Choir

The diocesan Clergy Choir in communion with the Sisters of Adoration

invite you to join us for the singing of Evening Prayer on Sunday 14th of March at 5pm in Bride St. Church, Wexford.  The prayer is principally for an increase in vocations, and has been organised by the Fern's Vocations team.
